“ I recently visited this charming indoor-outdoor café, and it truly offers a unique experience. Set against a backdrop of picturesque views and the gentle presence of horses grazing nearby, the ambiance is peaceful and scenic. It seems to be a popular hot spot for cyclists who pop in for a refuel, often grabbing a slice of carrot cake and an espresso. We enjoyed a leisurely brunch, and the omelettes were a standout - fluffy, flavourful, and generously filled. One of our guests particularly loved the mango smoothie, so much so that he ordered it twice during our meal, which speaks to its quality and refreshing taste. That being said, the fly situation must be addressed. Flies seemed to descend upon our table like a swarm of tiny, relentless soldiers, darting in every direction. Constant swatting could easily be avoided with a simple solution, such as turning on the veranda fan, which would make a significant difference in keeping the flies at bay and creating a more comfortable dining experience. Despite this, the location and the food are well worth it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing spot with good food and beautiful surroundings. ”
“ Beautiful setting with Springboks and horses in camp. Most delicious carrot cake. ”
“ Beautiful little cafe on the side of the road. Stunning scenery. Lots of animals, Springbok, chickens, ducks, pig, horses etc. The food was nice portions and delicious. The setup is pretty. The little food stall inside has some yummy things as well. ”
“ Out of the city. Farm vibes. Kids friendly and your 4 paws kid is also welcome. Parking for bicycles available. Wonderful view of mountains and you can see Springbuck and horses and Chickens with chicks. Local dishes like tripe, but also pizza, burgers, steak and salads. Kids menu available. Fireplace in Winter. ”
“ This was the first time that we have visited Cafe La Vita and we were not disappointed. The prices are very reasonable. We ordered a chicken salad to share with 2 cappuccinos and everything was well prepared and delicious. The chicken salad was more than enough for both of us. The service was fast and efficient. We shall definitely visit them again in the near future. ”
“ Famished after a busy Saturday morning, we drove five minutes up Bains Pass, through Cafe La Vita’s gates, where the parking lot bustled. We missed breakfast by five minutes, but the owner said they’d still feed us. Inside, a bachelorette party buzzed. We chose honey cake, its velvet texture promising sweetness, and a Rock ‘n Roll pizza. Mountains rose in the distance. Springboks grazed, and horses roamed, all captured with my camera. Cafe La Vita felt like home, and I crave a Saturday without it. Service was superb, with smiles, and food came fast, affordably. A must-visit, especially with kids. See you there! ”
